1) Nathan Beaulieu. I don't even know where to start. 1 assist, +2 in 9 minutes of ice time, but that doesn't even tell the whole story. Beaulieu was engaged, skated extremely well and did not seem nervous or out of place at all. While his assist was a great heads up play, it's that amazing blocked shot that really caught my eye. G-d knows what took so long to get this kid in the lineup, but I think it's safe to say that he won't be going anywhere for a while.
2) PK had another very solid night, but I have to admit, there's one part of his game that drives me absolutely nuts. PK has a cannon, which was on display last game, yet he hesitates to shoot the puck. PK has to understand that you don't always have to shoot to necessarily score, but rather shoot to create opportunities. Not one goalie in this league, not even Carey Price, can control the rebound of a PK Subban bomb from the point. The more PK shoots, the more the Habs will score.
3) Welcome back to my good old pal Max Pacioretty. 1 goal, 1 assist and 3 shots. Max was skating, he was involved and most importantly, finally got a bounce to go his way. Coincidentally, the Habs won. Not surprising.
4) MVP of the night, David Desharnais. Wasn't spectacular offensively, but boy has his defensive game come a long way. Not to mention the save of the night.
5) Atrocious reffing once again. Nothing will change so there's no use in complaining; especially on a blog.
6) Dale Weise and one armed Brandon Prust were fantastic in this one. Weise and Prust were crazy physical and punished any Bruins who touched the puck in their vicinity. Dale even got into it with Lucic
7) Alexei Emelin was a truck tonight. Hammered about 7 guys on the same penalty kill, including Zdeno Chara.
8) After game 5, I said how important scoring first would be. Teams are no 20-1 in the second round when scoring first. Better come out flying in Beantown.
9) Tomas Plekanec made up for his lackluster game 5 performance. Pleky was great defensively, including 62% in the face-off circle with most of his draws coming against Patrice Bergeron, who was 50% in the dot.
10) Game 7 it is, folks. Should be a good one. I'll make 1 prediction: whoever scores first will win.
